Gardening Q & A: Easy Way to Start Seeds

Grow It! : Episode GRW-403 -- More Projects »
What's an easy way to start seeds?

To prompt seed germination, place seeds in a small amount of slightly dampened sphagnum moss and store in a sealed plastic bag. The seeds will usually sprout in about a month. (Do not add more water after the bag has been sealed.) When using this technique with water plants, the moss must be thoroughly saturated before the seeds are added. Once the seeds have germinated, remove them from the bag and plant.
