Winter in New York

Winter Gardener : Episode TWG-111 -- More Projects »
Author Pat Lanza says if she couldn't garden during the winters in New York, she would move to a place where she could. Lanza, the author of Lasagna Gardening (a book about recycling kitchen waste and composting year round), has turned a 108-year-old church into a successful restaurant. Though she lives in Zone 5, she tries to grow a variety of plants that thrive between Zones 3 and 9. Ornamental grasses, alpine plants, sumac and berry trees are just a few of the specimens in her garden.
