By participating, entrants agree to be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions of the judges and/or Main Sponsor, which are binding and final on matters relating to this sweepstakes. Sweepstakes is subject to all applicable federal, state and local laws.
TO ENTER: Watch HGTV’s live "HGTV Dream Home Giveaway 2008" special scheduled to air on HGTV on March 16, 2008 from 9:00 p.m. Eastern Time ("ET") – 10:00 pm. ET (time and date are subject to change). Clues will be placed throughout the live show. Callers will have the opportunity to answer a question based on the clues. Prior to opening the phone lines, announcer will give the viewers the appropriate phone number to call. Phone lines will be open to eligible viewers between approximately 9:45 p.m. ET and 10:00 p.m. ET for viewers to call-in with their answers (each, an "entry").
WINNER DETERMINATION: The first caller who answers the question correctly, as determined by Main Sponsor, in its sole discretion, will be deemed the winner, subject to verification of eligibility and compliance with the terms of these rules. Potential winner will be required to execute and return an affidavit of eligibility, a liability release and, where lawful, a publicity release within seven (7) days of date of issuance. If such documents are not returned within the specified time period, prize or prize notification is returned as undeliverable, or potential winner is not in compliance with these rules, prize will be forfeited and, at Main Sponsor’ discretion and time permitting, an alternate winner selected.
PRIZE: One (1) winner ("Winner") will receive the following: (i) a trip for two (2) people to Islamorada, Florida, consisting of round trip coach class air transportation for two (2) people between the major U.S. commercial airport nearest Winner’s residence and Miami, Florida, one (1) midsize rental car for four (4) days (basic daily rate and tax only), hotel accommodations for four (4) days/three (3) nights (double occupancy, room rate and tax only) (approximate retail value ("ARV") of trip portion of prize: $2,400); (ii) a gift certificate for $5,000 worth of flooring from Lumber Liquidators (ARV: $5,000); and (iii) one (1) Doggie Dream Home (ARV: $1,500). Total ARV of the prize: $8,900.
The trip and hotel accommodations do not include meals, insurance, incidentals, tips, telephone calls, or any other personal expenses incurred during the trip. All other expenses not specifically identified as included in the prize are the sole responsibility of the Winner. Winner and guest (who must be age 18 or older) must travel the same itinerary and on the dates and/or times specified by Main Sponsor or prize will be forfeited and awarded to an alternate winner. Winner is solely responsible for all federal, state and local taxes associated with prize acceptance. Winners may not substitute, assign or transfer prize, but Main Sponsor reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to substitute a prize (or portion thereof) with one of comparable or greater value.
GENERAL CONDITIONS: Released Parties (as defined below) are not responsible for lost, late, incomplete, inaccurate, delayed, misdirected, undelivered, dropped or garbled calls; or for lost, interrupted or telephone lines or connections, availability or accessibility or miscommunications or failed satellite, telephone or cable transmissions, lines, or technical failure or jumbled, scrambled, delayed, or misdirected transmissions or computer hardware or software malfunctions, failures or difficulties, or other errors or difficulties of any kind whether human, mechanical, electronic, telephonic, typographical, printing or otherwise relating to or in connection with the sweepstakes, including, without limitation, errors or difficulties which may occur in connection with the administration of the sweepstakes, the processing of answers or calls, the announcement of the prize, or in any sweepstakes-related materials. Persons who tamper with or abuse any aspect of the sweepstakes or who are in violation of these Official Rules, as solely determined by Main Sponsor, will be disqualified and all associated entries will be void. Should any portion of the sweepstakes be, in Main Sponsor’ sole opinion, compromised by virus, worms, bugs, non-authorized human intervention or other causes which, in the sole opinion of the Main Sponsor, corrupt or impair the administration, security, fairness or proper play, or submission of entries, Main Sponsor reserves the right at its sole discretion to suspend, modify or terminate the sweepstakes. Main Sponsor also reserves the right to suspend, modify or terminate the sweepstakes if the episode is cancelled or unable to air in accordance with schedule required by Main Sponsor. Entrants, by participating, agree that Sweepstakes Entities, and their respective affiliates, subsidiaries, parent corporations, retailer, local sponsors and advertising and promotion agencies, and all of their respective officers, directors, shareholders, employees and agents, and any and all Internet servers and access provider(s) (collectively, "Released Parties") will have no liability whatsoever for, and shall be held harmless by entrants against, any liability, for any injuries, losses or damages of any kind, including death, to persons, or property resulting in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, from acceptance, possession, misuse or use of the prize or participation in this sweepstakes. Winner, by acceptance of prize, except where legally prohibited, grants permission for Main Sponsor and its designees to use his/her name, address (city and state), photograph, voice and/or other likeness and prize information for advertising, trade and promotional purposes without further compensation, in all media now known or hereafter discovered, worldwide in perpetuity, without notice or review or approval.
