Design Star Challenge 6: Deserving Designs

This week we are down to the final three designers: Kim, Will and Todd. They are shown a video about three deserving families (and HGTV viewers) who are in desperate need of a room makeover. The designers randomly select what state they will be going to, but are not told which family lives in that state. They needed to be prepared to work on any of the three spaces!

Of all the designers, Kim drew the toughest assignment with a cold trailer living and dining room. She uses carpet and slate to provide the family a finished floor. She admirably injects complementary paint colors with a warm green in the living room and terracotta orange in the adjacent dining nook, taking inspiration from the beauty of the secluded surroundings. Rustic sophistication is the direction as Kim features more slate on her tables and plenty of wood in the furniture and accessories.
