Designer Linda Fujimoto loves anything artist-made, French or antique and her house is a great display case for each of her great finds. Her personal touch is evident the moment one steps in the door and sees the stained and stenciled staircase. A harlequin design on the walls complements her artistic touch. The living room is a perfect example of an inviting garden-style sunroom. The crisp colors in the wallpaper set the lively tone; the flooring consists of Mexican paver tiles that only get better with age. An old gate has been fashioned into a coffee table with the addition of iron legs and glass top. The loveseat is covered with a bedspread that's been sewn into a slipcover.

The bistro-style kitchen contains marble counters, a buttery color on the walls and large-scale antique island. To bridge the marble to the cabinets, Fujimoto installed crown molding and faux painted it to resemble the countertop. The wood floor is painted with a blue and white harlequin pattern for additional texture and color. The white diamonds were sponged with the blue color to tone down the contrast.

The master bedroom is alive with color, pattern and drama with black carpet, floral rugs and layer of pillows on the bed. Dressmaker details abound with dress forms and mannequins used for decorating. The closet doors are enhanced with ceramic knobs and gold paint on the inside edges to coordinate with other gilded elements in the space. The downstairs bathroom was once all white from the ceiling to the floor. Fujimoto transformed the space with several coats of porch paint and greeting card and wallpaper cutouts decoupaged onto nearly every surface.
