Trash to Treasure: Easel, Planter Box, Wall Shelf, Towel and Napkin Holders
Decorating Cents : Episode DCT-1808 -- More Projects »
Combine three oars and a decorative piece of wood for a fun easel. Attach the three oars at the top. Attach the decorative element to the two front pieces. Secure a length of chain from the back oar to the front decorative element.
Repurpose two old chairs into interesting wall displays. One chair was missing its front legs--with the addition of two spindles it becomes a unique wall shelf (figure A). The other chair was missing its seat--by adding a rectangular box it becomes a functional indoor wall planter (figure B).
Combine old door knockers with old molding for a simple towel holder. Attach a piece of plywood to the back of the molding to give it the necessary depth, then attach the door knockers to the front.
Another fun use for an old door knocker is a napkin holder--simply attach the knocker to a piece of molding and use it to hold napkins when dining inside or out.
