Louisiana Greek Revival

Special Presentation : Episode HMBH1-S03 -- More Projects »
It's a home that swells with southern pride, built by one of the south's premier architects, A. Hays Town. This Louisiana house is an eclectic mix of Cajun, Creole, Spanish and French Colonial design. With its raised front porch steps and French doors with full-length shutters, the home fuses Cajun cottage elements with Creole architecture. The facade's wide porches and simple columns are a nod to the Greek revival mansions of the 19th century that were favored by wealthy southerners. Inside, Town designed a home of grand scale overflowing with southern charm. The rich, warm patina on the furnishings and accessories in the living room keeps the formality in check.
