The Reverend Peter Gomes' early 19th-century Georgian country home's exterior looks just as it did when it was built in 1838 but the interior has constantly grown as he's added personal treasures to his collection for nearly three decades. The interior is an eclectic mix of antiques, artifacts and personal mementos collected through the years. The color palette throughout is rich and regal with deep forest green, ruby red and midnight blue seen everywhere from the walls to the floors.
In the living room, traditional European furniture sits humbly beneath stunning Hudson Valley landscape paintings and stately portraits. However, Mayer Rus of House & Garden magazine feels it's the graceful circular stairwell leading up to the master bedroom that best represents the whole structure.
