Outdated Media Room

Designers' Challenge : Episode DSC-611 -- More Projects »
Chris and Geeta Brown recently moved their family into the neighborhood where Chris grew up. They love their home's large kitchen, dining room and spacious backyard. Since their families live nearby, they are eager to update their media room into a cozy entertainment space fit for a large family.

After carefully reviewing each of the designers' plans, the Browns decide that Pat Emery's vision for their space best suited their needs. Emery integrates an existing popcorn machine into the room by using red tones in the lamps, throw pillows and accent fabrics, which complement the hues in the existing wood floor. New hardware was added for a more finished look, but safety latches on all the doors keep it kid-friendly. The unit hides not only their audio and video equipment but also the infrared eye for the projection screen TV. With Emery's winning design, the movie room has been transformed from lackluster to blockbuster!
