After a new paint color and careful editing of furnishings, the space now evokes a New York penthouse library.
Designer Ilona Saari and her husband were tired of their Western-themed office so she changed it! Using dark gray paint to cover the walls, ceiling and bookcases she was able to create a slick library reminiscent of her old New York home. She came up some clever no-sew ideas to help unify the theme, including using a shawl to cover a seat cusihon and fabric remnants to cover an ottoman. Besides purchasing the rug and paint, everything else was borrowed from another room in her home.
