Before, the room featured a neutral palette with accents bringing in the only color.

Now the room sings with a soothing coastal palette.
When Susan and Jeffrey Lee built their home on Nantucket Island, they decorated their living room with an all-white, beach-style look. Today, this room is filled with an array of coastal colorful hues that mimics the ocean, sun, field and sky. The walls are now a buttery yellow set against the crisp white molding and ceiling. Once bare windows are now dressed with woven shades. The white slipcovers are gone and in their place is an ocean blue cotton twill fabric embroidered with a bubble-like pattern reminiscent of the water rolling over the sand. The sand-colored sisal rug has been replaced with a floral needlepoint floor covering. The black background helps to anchor the space. All of the handmade accents are the same and work just as well in the new colorful palette.
