The blue and white color scheme of the bedroom complements the ocean views from the balcony.
Host Joan Kohn visits the charming seaside cottage of Julia Pollock, who updated the 1920s home with the help of architect Lyman Perry.
  • The sea-inspired color scheme is blue and white. The walls are powder blue, and the hardwood floor – a reclaimed butternut walnut wood - is covered with blue area rugs. The bed is dressed with a white spread and blue and white toile pillows. A blue chaise is positioned to take advantage of the ocean views.
  • An Italian antique armoire, with handpainted blue insets, houses the TV and provides additional storage.
  • A compact walk-in closet has a tall built-in dresser and customized shelving.
  • The small bathroom is all white, with sheer white fabric valances over the wide windows. A white-enameled footed tub with classic faucet and attachments give the room an old cottage feel.
  • A half-wall at the end of the white marble vanity provides privacy for the toilet.
  • The white-tiled shower has a sunflower shower head and fitted glass door.
  • The double-bowl vanity is accessorized with simple white built-in medicine cabinets. Hardware is crystal-clear.
