In a city known for its laid-back quality of life, antique dealer Shannon Quimby and her husband Glenn embrace the outdoors by snoozing under the stars on an old-fashioned sleeping porch.

The large deck is furnished with casual, low-maintenance pieces that withstand the elements. Two twin iron beds make up the sleeping area (figure A), old garden furniture and recycled cast-offs are found in the sitting space and the dining nook consists of a table with a mosaic top that Shannon made herself (figure B). Privacy comes in the form of a giant kiwi vine that grows around the perimeter of the porch. Colorful accessories include old signs and hanging lights with Easter bonnet shades (figure C).
