Steps:

  1. Cut down the umbrella handle with a hack saw so it will hang down far enough from the light bulb.
  2. Cut three strands of bead chain (available from a hardware store) of equal length and wrap around the metal frame of the umbrella. Tie a knot and secure with duct tape.
  3. Tie it up to the light fixture. Note: If your fixture does not have three predrilled holes, you may have to experiment with ways to hang it. Use your best judgment and exercise caution when working with electrical components.
