Drill small holes into a piece of banister rail and hot-glue test tubes in the holes. Fill each with water and add a fresh flower.

Remove the fabric from an iron lampshade form and turn upside-down. Add four pieces of chain to the top. Place a glass plate and candle inside the form. Deck the form and chains with crystals purchased from a lighting center or craft store.

Reuse an old wooden couch form for an outdoor bench. Remove the springs, if necessary. Use tongue-and-groove paneling for the back and seat. Add arms, a decorative detail to the back and an old column to the top. Paint white and glaze.

Use old couch springs for a note organizer. Staple the springs horizontally across the back of a frame and hang notes and photos with clothespins.
