Caribbean-Themed Brothers' Bedroom Makeover

• The walls are painted a citrus green color and a geometric shape is painted above each boy's bed in bright yellow and orange.
  
• A magnetic chair rail is added around the room for a spot to display artwork and photos. The chair rail comes precut and predrilled from the manufacturer.
  
• The beds are repositioned to make better use of the space and dressed in multicolored plaid duvets.
  
• The window rods are made of PVC piping and attached to the wall with chair brackets. The finials are toy balls hot-glued on to each end. The fabric panels are interlined with batting to give it dimension.
  
• A child's plastic umbrella is turned upside-down for an overhead light fixture. Note: Cut the handle down to keep the bulb away from the umbrella.
  
• A 4-foot piece of plywood is cut in half to create a unique desk to fit in between the beds.
  
• Accessories include a light-up globe lamp, primary blue chalkboard, art supplies in a lime green cutlery tray and a colorful beach towel (with rug grip underneath) that serves as an area rug.

Steps:

1. Draw and cut a circle out of a 4-foot piece of plywood.
   
2. Cut the circle in half.
   
3. Slide the two halves apart and brace the length underneath with a 1x8.
   
4. Use closet poles for legs and brace each with a piece of 1x8.
   
5. Paint, as desired.
