Trash to Treasure: Entry Bench, Message Center, Trays
Decorating Cents : Episode DCT-1608 -- More Projects »
Remove the mirror and drawers from an old vanity dresser if not already missing. Replace the drawers with old wire locker baskets. Use curtain finials for the feet and upholster a piece of batting for a cushioned seat. Tack down with upholstery nails.
Turn an old kitchen cupboard door into a memo center. Add molding to the top, middle and bottom for detail and paint the inset panel with chalkboard paint (create your own inset with trim molding, if necessary). Cut a piece of tin to fit in the top panel. Hot-glue magnets to the back of vintage buttons and use to hold notes on the tin panel. Add a decorative knob and backplate for a faux handle.
Turn a stack of old molding into various home accessories. Cut the pieces to the desired size, miter the corners and attach with nails. Use old doorknobs for the feet. Use the boxes as a table centerpiece, plant stand, catchall on an entry table--be creative!
