The French Provencal headboard was painted gold and finished with black and red glaze to help tie it in with the room's Asian decor. Ehlinger enhanced the look with a fabric-covered plywood back.

The plain drapes are embellished with bullion fringe hot-glued to the top edge. The modern-looking rods are made of electrical conduit and plumbing fixtures.
