Asian-Inspired Redesign
Decorating Cents : Episode DCT-1309 -- More Projects »
Interior Arrangement and Design Association members Krista Mullen and Sherry Oexman share how they were able to balance the furniture, accessories and colors in an Asian-inspired living room, without spending any money. - They repositioned the sofa and loveseat in front of the angled wall and set the oversize coffee table parallel to the sofa.
- The large, ebony screen was placed in the corner behind the sofa and loveseat and another screen was placed in the opposite corner.
- Additional seating was created with a side chair set opposite the sofa and a bench placed in front of the picture window.
- The neutral color scheme is punched up with colorful pillows and throws, all found in other rooms of the house.
- A pleasing arrangement of wall art and plates with an Asian motif was created on the long back wall.
- A tall centerpiece placed on the coffee table helps to bridge the height between the low table and tall screens.
