Decorating Cents : Episode DCT-1302 -- More Projects »
PHOTO
Create toy storage out of a leftover kitchen cabinet. Make a cabinet door out of plywood and attach with hinges; cover the front with chalkboard paint and attach a knob. Finish the edges with trim molding and attach a latch on the side. Add a shelf inside and feet on the bottom. Paint the entire piece white, then paint the outside purple and immediately rake through with a comb for a plaid effect. Umber the exterior for an aged look.

Use an old exterior window box for an indoor planter box. Use 2" x 4" boards to build a sub-support directly underneath the box. Jigsaw out the bottom of beadboard paneling and attach to the sides and front. Use scrap lumber to create an interior brace on the bottom. Paint white; sand and umber over for an aged effect.

Drill a hole into the side of a chicken feeder; attach wiring and socket. Insert a halogen bulb and attach under a cabinet.
