Purchase old letters from signs at antique stores and create unique arrangements. Whittlef suggests creating a border for a child's room by hanging up the letters of the alphabet. He also shows how to place the numbers of a special date on a bedroom door or other interior door. For example, for a June 25 wedding anniversary, place "625 " on the door as a reminder of the special date.

Use nontraditional vases to display your flowers and centerpiece arrangements. Suggestions include old minnow buckets (not the bright plastic ones), canning jars, cookie jars, sugar bowls, pitchers and even toothpick holders.
