Turn old Navajo and kilim rugs into creative throw pillows.

Simply take small scraps of fabric and piece them together to create an eclectic pillow. Unique fringes should be kept in tact because they add charm to a pillow. Fabric from old suits, skirts, and dresses with interesting patterns can be pieced together to form a "crazy quilt." Crazy quilts make great pillows and one-of-a-kind teddy bears.

Basic teddy bear patterns are great to experiment with. Try sewing a Teddy bear using the fabric of an old coat. The body of the coat becomes the body of the bear, the lapel become accents on the ears and paws, and the buttons become the eyes. Old apron skirts make great window treatments for the kitchen. Simply adhere the apron to each side of a curtain rod.
