Using a pillar or post from a porch, create a hat tree with legs fashioned from porch rungs. Then, simply add some hooks and a fresh coat of paint.

Old post office boxes can be bought for next to nothing and are great for storing or displaying small items. The boxes can be positioned with either the front or back facing outward.

To beautifully frame an old picture, use salvaged door frames -- simply cut the pieces to the appropriate size. Most are quite beautiful, and will not require refinishing.
