In this episode, designer Nancy Golden spices up a dull, lackluster kitchen with a bright and colorful fruit theme. To solve storage problems, Golden tops the window and doorway with simple shelves. Boring cabinets get a dramatic transformation with a fabulous decoupage technique that utilizes old posters of fruit and wine. Next, Golden adds textured paint to the walls to create interest, and paints the ceiling a pale blue to give the room a larger feel. To create a distinctive touch, she uses a special ceramic paint to add several hand-painted fruit designs to tiles around the room. The stunning result is a vibrant, functional, and beautiful kitchen.
