Wood Cornice

Materials:

murals (countryside window and topiary)
wallpaper cutouts (Laurel leaves, Hummingbird and Magnolia)
plywood
nails
brackets
primer
paint
sponges
ribbon
foam cornice kit (optional)
self-adhesive shelf paper (optional)

Steps :

1. Cut plywood pieces to desired size (curve the front piece to mimic the arch of the mural) and nail it together. Or, put together a foam cornice kit and cover it with shelf paper.

2. Prime cornice and let dry. Use sponges to randomly paint surface. Let dry.

3. Apply wallpaper cutouts according to directions in desired design. To give dimension to leaves and hummingbirds, lift the center away from surface (hold ends in place until it stands alone).

4. Attach cornice to wall with brackets.

5. Apply wallpaper mural according to directions. If desired, glue a ribbon bow to the topiary mural before hanging for embellishment (figure A).
