Dress up an ordinary curtain rod with paint or fabric to suit your style. Lubecke painted hers gold and wrapped it with green taffeta ribbon.
Designer Shea Lubecke shares how she "dresses up" her French country windows from floor to ceiling using everything from simple damask to rich taffeta.
  • The window treatment in the French country dining room consists of four fabrics:  pinstripe, seersucker, solid pink and horizontal silk organdy.
  • A French portier, or door curtain, separates the kitchen from the dining room.
  • The handmade damask drapes in the living room have pencil-pleated headers and pouf-pocket tops for a more elegant and formal look.
