Materials:
small dried gourds
household bleach
dried apple slices, nuts, dried flowers and leaves
floral wire
twine
long needle with large eye or rug hook needle
drill with bits
clamp
ribbon
plates
Steps:
- Clean gourds by soaking them overnight in bleach (put a plate or two on top to keep them covered with the solution). Let them dry.
- Drill holes through the neck of each gourd, using a clamp to hold them in place . Drill holes through the apple slices and nuts as well.
- Thread twine on needle. String gourds, apple slices and nuts on the twine alternately . Hang over doorway, mantel or across a window.
- Add a cluster of leaves and flowers secured with floral wire to the ends of the garland after it's in place. Add lengths of ribbon for a final touch.
