Make a quick window topper out of canvas.
Materials:

canvas fabric
scissors
measuring tape
glue
pencil
acrylic paints, brushes and stamps
staple gun

Steps:

  1. Measure the window width from molding to molding. Add 1" to this measurement. Cut a strip of canvas 15" to this adjusted measurement.
  2. To find the center, fold the strip in half. Keeping it folded, and cutting through both thicknesses, mark and cut away two triangles, leaving 1" at the side edges. The top of each triangle should be 5" from the bottom edge.
  3. Clip the top of each triangle 1/2", fold up the raw edges, press, and glue the hem. Also press and glue the side hems.
  4. Paint the design onto the canvas, allowing it to dry thoroughly between colors. When completely dry, staple to the top of the molding and at the sides near the top also. Dry clean only.
