Wallpaper Roller Blind

Decorating With Style : Episode DWS-118 -- More Projects »
Cindy Piccoli gives a designer touch to plain roller blinds by adding decorative peel-and-stick borders and cut-outs.

Plain roller blinds are very inexpensive and can be easily decorated to match your room decor. Measure the inside of your window frame and ask the store to cut the blind for you. To decorate the blind, use peel and stick fabric wallcovering; regular wallpaper won't work, as it will develop wrinkles when it dries.

Tips:
  • To coordinate with a room that contains geometric prints, stick a strip of the trim on the end of the shade and add shapes cut from the print.
  • Use a adhesive fabric border to trim the bottom.
  • Cut out elements of the print and apply the at random to the blind.
  • For a room that is decorated in florals, cut individual flowers from the wallcovering and apply them to the blind. Add a simple swag of gauze fabric draped over dried flowers.
