Making Interior Window Shutters Fit

These window shutters are six inches longer than the window so Matt Fox fashioned a raised panel to make them fit perfectly.
Materials:

poplar board
window casing
drill
finish nails
wood filler
trim paint

Steps:

1. Make a raised panel from a piece of poplar and add window casing.

2. Slide it up under the window and shutters. Drill pilot holes into the board and drive finish nails directly into the studs.

3. Fill in the nail holes and touch them up with trim paint.
