Use copies of leaves to make realistic images on curtains.
Materials:

leaves
cotton or muslin curtain panels
heat transfer paper
window cling
glue
flower press or heavy books/paper towels

Steps:

  1. Collect leaves and press until dry and flat.
  2. Arrange leaves onto a piece of paper, making sure that they do not overlap. Make color copies on the heat transfer paper. Cut out the images leaving a 1/8-inch border.
  3. Place the curtains on a flat, hard, heat-resistant surface (not an ironing board ). Heat iron to the hottest setting (no steam).
  4. Decide leaf placement and preheat the fabric in the first area. Place iron over the transfer/fabric and apply pressure for 45 seconds. Burnish the image with the iron edge.
  5. Carefully remove and gently peel off the paper. If it's difficult, repeat the heating process. Repeat until panels are done.
  6. When necessary, hand-wash in warm water with mild detergent and line dry.
  7. For a coordinating touch, copy leaves onto clear window cling paper. Cut them out and stick on windows where the curtains will hang.
