Shutters add to the outdoor feel of this lily pond room.

Materials:

outdoor plastic shutters
1" x 2" wood
screws (drywall and 1/2")

Steps :

  1. Determine where the top of the shutter will be on the wall and mark it in the middle with a light pencil line. Attach a piece of 1" x 2" wood 1/16 inch below the line, which is the thickness of the shutter. Drill two pilot holes through the wood first and secure with screws (figure A).
  2. Once the board is attached, set the shutter on and mark where the bottom board should go. Repeat the same process for attaching it, and then put the shutter in place. Screw down from the top through the shutter and into the support board with 1/2-inch screws. Repeat for the bottom.
