Materials:

Create It Decor window cornices
rice paper or decorative paper
spary adhesive
textured paint
sea sponge
tucking tool
acrylic medium
gold leaf

Steps:

Wallpaper embellishments

1. Sponge the cornice with tints of blue and white textured paint, blending the colors together as you sponge (figure A).

2. Attach wallpaper cutouts to the cornice and smooth them out with a tucking tool (figure B).

Rice paper embellishments

1. Paint the top and bottom edges of the cornice as desired (figure C).

2. Apply spray adhesive to the center horizontal strip of the cornice. Cut and position a piece of rice paper to the center of the cornice and tuck the ends under the top and bottom edges with a tucking tool (figure D).

1. Paint the center of the cornice as desired (figure E). Let dry and apply an acrylic medium over the paint.

2. Apply gold leaf to the acrylic medium (figure F) and pat with fingers to achieve a slightly crackled look (figure G).

3. Cover the top and bottom edges of the cornice with fabric and tuck the edges in with a tucking tool (figure H). Miter the corners (figure I) and use double-sided tape to hold the material onto the back of the corners (figure J).
