Customized window treatments don't always have to be expensive or time-consuming. Create one quickly out of bandanas arranged in a checkerboard pattern.
Materials:

100% cotton bandanas in two colors
iron
fusible web
pins

Steps :

1. Measure window from top edge to floor. Put two bandanas right sides together and fuse along one edge. Continue until necessary length is created.

2. Repeat the process to create enough strips for the width needed (be sure to start each strip with the opposite color so that the curtain will be a checkerboard when finished).

3. Fuse the strips together to create each panel and iron seams flat. Fuse hems along the sides to make them even.

4. Cut a bandana into strips and sew them to create the desired tab length and width. Place each tab end on either side of the curtain where desired and stitch them in place.
