Figure B
Host Renai Ellison shows how to turn a simple glass door or window into a geometrically-etched work of art.

Materials:

glass door or window
painter's tape
paintbrush
etching cream
sponge
water
paper towel
adhesive paper
frosted-glass finish

Steps:

  1. Thoroughly clean the door or window before starting.

  2. Apply painter's tape to the areas you do NOT want to etch.

  3. Using a paintbrush, apply a generous amount of glass etching cream to the exposed areas of the glass (figure A). Follow product instructions for drying time.

  4. Rinse the etching cream off with a sponge and water. Dry with a paper towel.

  5. Remove tape to reveal the new design (figure B).

Alternate method:

  1. Thoroughly clean the door window before starting.

  2. Cut shapes of your choice out of adhesive paper and stick them to the surface.

  3. Using frosted glass finish, apply several fine layers until you get the desired result.

  4. Peel off adhesive paper.
