Figure A
Materials:

pre-cut stained glass pieces
lightweight flowerpot (same color as glass chips )
glass chips
powdered solder
glass glue
tile cutter
sponge
pad
sealer

Steps:

  1. Draw desired design with a pencil. Brush glass glue on the back of pre-cut stained glass pieces and place them on the pot. Don't worry if it's not completely flat--the powdered solder will fill it in.
  2. Cut the glass chips to the desired width, and then cut off any irregular edges to get little rectangular pieces. Brush glue on the pot and fill in the background with the chips in straight rows (use cutter to trim pieces to fit in corners). Let dry completely.
  3. Mix the solder and brush it over the area, filling in all gaps (figure A).
  4. Once completely filled in, wipe excess solder off with a damp sponge until clean. Buff with a pad when dry.
  5. Coat with a sealer for protection.
