He draws inspiration for his designs from the roses and tulips in his garden. His first design was butterfiles, and he has also created pots with tropical scenes from South Pacific islands.
Field reporter Joe Zanger visits the Portland, Oregon, studio of artist Jim Bosley to learn about his passion for creating exquisite mosaic stained-glass pots.

Bosley's 25-year career as a TV weatherman made him one of the most popular celebrities in Portland. But he left that behind to design and create exquisite mosaic flower pots, fulfilling an artistic drive he's had since a young child.

Bosley starts by drawing a design on a pot freehand, then he cuts the glass to fit. He says one of the things he enjoys most while making his pots is the different sounds the glass makes when it's cut and scored.
