There weren't grout sealers when this tile was installed so it had become very dirty over the years.

A grout coating makes it look fresh and almost new again.
Materials:

tile grout coating
foam brushes
sponge or rags
grout sealer
pail

Steps:

1. Be sure the floor is very clean before applying the product.

2. Paint the coating over all of the grout lines using foam brushes and let it dry for 24 hours (there will be excess on the tile itself, which is fine) (figure A). If necessary, work on half the floor one day and the other half the next to make sure you can get in and out of the room.
3. Wipe the excess coating off the tiles with a sponge or rags and warm water. Don't wait more than 24 hours or it will become harder to remove.
4. Although the directions don't mention sealing the grout, it's a good idea to apply some with a foam brush as above (be careful not to get too much on the tile as it must be wiped off also).
