Turn a lazy Susan into a useful and decorative mosaic trivet for the holidays.
Materials:

2 to 3 packages stained glass chips or colored stained glass sheets
white or silicone glue
grout
18" unfinished wood lazy Susan
small sponge
spatula
fine sandpaper
old fork
glass nippers
safety goggles
gloves

Steps:

  1. Lightly score wood surface with fork and spread a thin layer of glue diluted with water over the surface (this helps the mosaic pieces adhere).Allow to dry.
  2. Draw design onto surface or transfer design using carbon paper.
  3. Glue stained glass chips to surface, leaving space for the grout (cut the pieces smaller as necessary). Allow to dry.
  4. Spread grout over the pieces and wear gloves if using your hands. Allow to dry for 15 minutes. Clean the excess off with a damp sponge in a circular motion. Lightly sand any build up and wipe with damp cloth.
