Before: The homeowners want to turn their basement into an informal Old West-themed space to entertain friends. Since they live in Las Vegas, incorporating their poker table and slot machine is a must.

After: Hiding the cinderblock with paint and wainscotting completely changes the look of the room. A custom bar and various memorabilia transform this basement into a Western saloon.

Before: The homeowners want to add a Murphy bed for overnight guests and cover up their storage closet doors with a Western flair.

After: The Murphy bed is hidden by a mural from the movie Tombstone. Leather couches and cowhide pillows are finishing touches for the room.
Ranchers Iris and Barry Yost have worked hard to make their custom-built Vegas ranch a Western haven for them, but are at a loss as to what to do with their basement rec room. They'd like a designer to create an old-fashioned saloon where they can entertain friends and neighbors, house various knick-knacks and put up the occasional overnight guest, all for a budget of $35,000.

After seeing all the saloon designs for their basement, the Yosts decide on Cindy Payne's practical but fun plans. Payne makes sure to include all of the homeowners' ideas like the Murphy bed and bar but also adds some of her own touches. An old piano will be used to store the TV when not in use, "Wanted" posters of their friends and family will hang on the walls, and a mural will incorporate the couple's own horses. With the addition of a saddle chair, poker areas, and a slot machine, Payne transforms a boring basement into a splashy Las Vegas saloon.
