- Start in the kitchen. The counter top is a major focal point and a good starting point for change.
- Bring the background forward.
- Repeat the basic colors in the back splash and in the window coverings.
- Introduce a strong color with wallpaper.
- With today’s open floor plans, colors need to travel so be conscious of this when redecorating. Use different patterns with the same colors used in the kitchen.
- Accessory items can be easily used to repeat colors throughout the different living areas of the home. You can actually use a few basic colors to decorate your entire house, making different colors primary in different rooms.
