Designer Barry Dixon shares how he fused French and African influences to create a casual, eclectic living space:
  • The large two-story wall and drapes set the backdrop for the colorful furnishings and rustic art. The wall discreetly houses a television, fireplace and firewood.
  • The room's oversized scale is addressed with larger furniture pieces, layered fabrics and several seating groups, including banquette seating.
  • Primitive African art is found throughout the space, from African currency on the walls to a midwifery stool in front of the fireplace.
