Before: Need a Big-City Bedroom
Homeowner Lee Henderson is an urban guy. He lives, works and plays downtown. His condo is located in a high-rise, river-view building. In fact, he likes city living so much, he works for the local convention and visitor’s bureau. The decor in his home reflects his ultra-contemporary, big-city lifestyle — except his bedroom (pictured, right). When it came to decorating it, Henderson ran out of time, energy and money.

Next: Canopy Bed
With the help of host Joan Steffend, carpenter Jeff Meyer, and less than $500, designer Cy Winship turns a dull bedroom into a sophisticated, Op Art space with lots of fun elements and a few sinister touches. The makeover starts by painting the walls sunny, lemon yellow. The homeowner is a theater buff, so the inspiration for the yellow and black color scheme came from his large collection of theater playbills.
