After: Cutouts in the wall become a pass-through bar where the living room and game room intermingle. Complementary vibrant orange and green colors give a modern twist to the rooms.

Before: The homeowners are self-proclaimed music and entertainment addicts. They have lots of records and video game equipment and nowhere to put it. Ideally, they'd like to be able to store it out of sight.

After: With bold wall colors and personalized accents, the student designer turns the living room into a modern, swanky work of art. She also adds unobtrusive record storage with a custom-built bench.
Tony Camp and Nikki Hinsch are a recently engaged couple with a desire to turn their living room and game room into a stylish hangout. While each favors bold colors and modern style, they can't agree on what to do with the rooms. Hinsch wants to add her own touches, and Camp wants to highlight his passion for music. They defer to student designer Elisa Mesch to mediate a design plan. Mesch embraces a vibrant citrus palette and balances it with white accents and black woodwork. The final effect is playful and modern enough to make both homeowners happy.
