- Mod isn't the same thing as mid-century modern. Mid-century modern has infused a lot of the details seen in mod design but mod is current with its use of punchy graphics and shags. The lines and forms of mid-century pieces, such as the hourglass shape, are the influences seen in mod today.
- If you like the mod look, but aren't ready to totally redo the living room, make the change gradually. Begin by adding a simple accent pieces like a shag rug or vibrant graphic throw pillows to a sofa.
- With all of your great mod pieces, don't forget about lighting. Think chrome and plastic. You'll get a great look, great light and it'll keep your modern theme going throughout the room.
