Fifties Kitchens
The biggest thing in the 1950s kitchen was the introduction of color. Bright pastels in yellow or pink were all the rage, and they covered brand-new automated appliances. Convenience was the name of the kitchen game, and in the 1950s there were more new electric gadgets and gizmos than you could shake a spatula at. Easy clean-up was also key, with surfaces like Formica and vinyl covering countertops, tables and floors.
