Stenciled Screen

Add a pretty stenciled design to an exterior window screen for a decorative detail that looks beautiful both day and night. Figure A

painter's tape
stencil
drop cloth or newspapers
oil stencil paint
fingertip stencil stamper

Steps:

1. Place the screen over newspapers or a drop cloth to protect the surface. Tape the stencil to the screen (only the corners are decorated in the featured project ).

2. Place stamper over fingertip and lightly load it with paint (latex craft paints can be used if the screen isn't exposed to the weather). Tamp the paint over the stencil (too much will clog the screen holes so start light and layer the paint) (figure A).
