Materials:

decorative foam stamps (#72091 Gothic Fan Motif, #71005 Accent Fleur de Lis)
acrylic paint (#02506 Black, #02604Metallic 14k Gold)
applicator sponges
Renaissance Foil (Gold #06 101 0669)
Adhesive Renaissance Foil (#06 402 0200)
Satin Interior Spray Varnish (#07 202 0045)
sea sponge
11-1/2" wooden octagon plate (disconintued)

Steps:

  1. Base-coat plate black and allow to dry. Use gold paint and sponge a pattern around the lip of plate (cover the center with paper if desired) (figure A).
  2. Use a sponge to cover Gothic Fan stamp with adhesive and stamp it in the center of the plate. Trace around design with more adhesive in a bottle and fill the pattern in (figure B).
  3. Stamp small Fleur de Lis with black paint around border lip of plate. Add more adhesive from bottle as in Step 2--use the tip to add further embellishments and designs. Continue only once the designs are clear and tacky (figure C).
  4. Press gold foil with a finger over designs (shiny side up) until covered (figure D).
  5. Allow to dry, and then varnish.
