A quick way to provide a delicate appearance to an object is to use a lace doily as a stencil. After applying a base coat to the designated item and letting it dry, position the lace as desired and mask the areas that won't be painted.
Shake and test a can of spray paint, then hold the can 10 to 12 inches from the surface and spray across the object, being careful not to get the paint up under the lace. Let the paint dry, and remove the lace.
