Steps:
1. Cut the beadboard to five-foot lengths. For a clean cut, place the beadboard face down on a sturdy surface and use a circular saw with a straightedge guide clamped to the beadboard. Cut the trim pieces to the necessary lengths with a miter saw.
2. Since new baseboard will be added along the bottom of the beadboard, it's a good idea to raise the panel slightly using a shim or paint stir stick so it's not resting on the floor. This also helps for swelling and shrinkage as the weather changes and if the floor is uneven, adjusting the shim will keep the beadboard plumb and level.
3. To mount the beadboard, add a paneling adhesive in an "S" pattern to the back and trace along the edges. Once the panel is lined up, press the board to the wall and apply pressure along all the edges and corners. Use a couple finish nails along the top where they will be hidden by the cap molding and along the bottom where they will be covered by the baseboard to hold the panel in place while the adhesive is setting up. Remove the shim.
4. Repeat the procedure until the walls are done.
5. Nail the cap molding, corner strips, baseboards and quarter round in place and use a nail set to countersink the nail heads. Fill the nail holes with spackling compound and wipe off the excess.
6. Once dry, prime and paint as desired.
